When he was in the Elementary School, he had gained as the winner of a painting contest in his village. That thing supported him be more serious in painting, then he decided to learn painting and left the school. His works more performs women figures that he paints in realist style. According to him, the beauty of women's figure and her face beauty are really interesting to be photographed on canvas. In his village, I Wayan Meja is famous as a painter who likes painting half nude women.
Because of this case, one day his house was visited by two police cars. That time is neighbors thought that the police were going to arrest him because his half nude paintings. » I WAYAN EKA PARTAMA was born in Peliatan, Ubud, Bali 29 years ago. He started to do the art work by making wood sculpture when he was 9 years old. Since he was young he loves panting and he learnt it from his father, I Nyoman Kayun who is also a painter. Being a professional painter is his goal, therefore he keeps learning and took painting subject at Sukawati Vocational High School, then continuing his Bachelor degree at Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) in Denpasar. He joined many painting exhibitions that gave him experiences well as inspire in making good art works.
His concepts is Art as an interpretation of the meaning of a cultural realities as well as the role of bringing its own right. The light, which is related to thought it is the eyes. When the light deals with objects, it is the color of objects. Rays or light that is present through the boundaries of darkness implies its own space for expression with features elements of cubism as a result of light processed in accordance with the objects of the shaper of the light itself.
Because of that, then I give the sign with transparent areas sprinkled in random order and to paint splashes of color. Transparent areas on this semiotic could be read as a veil of pointing time. Freedom of thinking, honest in the language of the soul, joy of life, creativity in the arts, purity in life. A wide range of expression in a world of children inspired me in my work.
